Premium quality, light brown and with a high oil content, CRISTA Cassia Tubes are imported from Vietnam. They are then transported to the factory where the Cassia is hand cleaned, graded and sorted. The spice is often confused with Ceylon Cinnamon which is the sweeter variety. Cassia is commonly referred to as “Dalchini” in India. Ceylon Cinnamon originates in Sri Lanka and has a sweeter and less spicy note. In India, Cassia is a more economically priced alternative to Ceylon Cinnamon (by a factor of 3) and is characterized by a much spicier note when compared with Ceylon Cinnamon. It is known to be an Indian kitchen staple and is very popular in Indian cooking.
