Suggested Recipe - Serves: 6 | Cooking time: 30 mins
Step 1 : Pressure cook 1 cup toor dal (split red gram). Boil 1½ cups mixed vegetables, potatoes, brinjals and drumsticks separately. Cut two large onions and tomatoes in big pieces and keep aside.
Step 2 : Soak 1 cup tamarind in ¼ cup water for 15 mins. Strain and keep aside. In a kadai, heat 1½ tbsp of oil. Add curry leaves, 1 tsp mustard seeds, turmeric, asafoetida and 2 green chillies.
Step 3 : Add the onions and tomatoes to the mix. Fry for 3 mins. Lastly, add 2 tbsp of CRISTA Sambhar Masala, fry for one minute and add the dal, vegetables, tamarind water and salt.
